Toes Raises

Stand on your legs with equal weight on both the legs.  Raise your feet so that you will stand on the tips of your toes.  Then come down to the first position.  The stretch will be felt at the calf and the thigh muscles greatly.  Repeat this for roughly 20-25 times.  After one week or so you can increase the count gradually.  

Knee Bends

For performing these exercises to increase the vertical leap, stand upright and slowly bend your knees.  When you’re bending your knees, make sure that your back is straight.  Slowly bend your knees and go in a downward direction.  Remember, do not bend the knees more than your capacity.  If bending hurts after a certain point, stop at that point itself.  Don’t overdo bending, otherwise, it may lead to heavy injuries.  

Jumping ( Skipping ) Rope

Jumping using a jump rope exuberantly pushes up your vertical leap.  Jumping with a rope can be done anywhere.  This is one of the most beneficial exercises to increase vertical leap.  

Regular Workout

Exercises to increase vertical leap include exercise routines for buttressing the muscles of the lower back, lower abdomen, upper abdomen and obliques.  These are those muscles which generate plenty of power when a higher leap is desired.  

These are the exercises to increase vertical leap.  Augmenting the body adaptability is also important for augmenting the vertical leap.  This is as tight muscles cannot help you jump higher.

Baseball is one of America’s greatest pastimes. Most boys between the ages of 13 and 16 are baseball aficionados and will play for their school team, church team or neighborhood recreational league. However, many boys also decide to play on a traveling baseball team. These teams are fully recreational in nature, but they are extremely competitive and are in high demand. Sometimes, these traveling teams will play in regional baseball tournaments where teams from all over the region gather to compete.

Should your son be desirous of locating a tournament team, it takes very little effort. Finding the teams online is a very simple task, however getting on one of the teams may take some more work. You will find that there is an application process, but much of this is determined by the tournament director. In most instances the procedure requires a registration fee, fully completed application form, a copy of the player’s birth certificate, documented evidence of insurance coverage and a code of conduct statement executed by the player.

Some regional baseball tournaments require an annual fee to help offset some of the operational costs of the program such as letterhead, envelopes, postage and mailing, vaccine and website maintenance. It is typically charged to all players and their families including the ones who played in previous years.

The selection procedure for regional baseball tournaments varies from league to league although generally speaking coaches look for the same sort of players. They look for players who will be complementary for the team as a whole and encouraging for the other team members. They also prefer players who have high standards, excellent character, and tenacity in the face of difficult challenges. The coach will decide the starting lineups, the pitching rotation, positions and substitutions. But the coach will typically provide an opportunity for each player to play given his athletic ability.

Parents and players must understand, however, that some players may have more playing time than others. They all have varied backgrounds and differences in skill sets. Due to this, the coach has to consider the team’s overall success instead of an individual player’s satisfaction with either the amount of playing time he gets or the position to which he is assigned.
